(Preface- I need to say something in my own defense before I launch into the actual project.

1. I am In college- I have access to almost nothing. No sewing machine, no craft room- nothing. I live in a dorm room, and hardly have a car. So, please take into account that I have:
a. No sewing machine.- I know my sewing can be sloppy but it's by hand. Give me a  break.
b. hardly any resources to make stuff.
2. It's a recession- So....I can't, you know, get more resources. 'cuz I'm broke.)
( Oh...and Props go out to my model, who is also my boyfriend. Thanks for posing.)

So, I would appreciate any feeback/constructive criticism anyone has, but please understand that I don't have a sewing machine.

Okay, the Jacket:
This was one ugly thing before I found it( the befo' pic is at the very bottom.)
Anyway, a friend of mine was kind enough to give it to me, so I tore it up and made it into this:

The Front:

The Grenade was based off of a picture of a grenade I found on the interweb. The detailing was done in the bright blue of an old drama club t-shirt.

Seriously: I told you it was old-man-tastic. It even has those old man pocket for pip tobacco and a monocle inside.

I love it. The ringmaster look is in.

Although I have to be a nerdface and admit I like the original jacket too. Eek!

Having hardly any resources just means you have more opportunity to be creative w/ what you do have! You did great and when you get tired of your new jacket you can always turn it into something else new. Smiley

I second what Spidernails said. It's not a "lack of resources" it's "deconstructed"  Wink

Stop being so damned positive. Staring at the sun only blinds some one. By only looking at the positive, you miss an entire beautiful world of shadows and colors. Don't be overly negative, be realistic. The world is so much more complex and beautiful that way.

Dude that is AWESOME!!!!

I second the motion to call it "deconstructed," cuz it's got a really raw look that's hot in a lot of circles these days. Kinda makes me think of Alice in Wonderland meets Clockwork Orange (haven't seen the movie, just still-frames from it so I could very well be out of my gourd). I'm not quite so keen on the way it does-up in the front, but the bow and pocket square make me squeal with glee! So bookmarked for future reference!

Well done, the jacket and the boy are delightful! I like the buttons, and your handstitching is cute.
