my swap partner has received these now, so I won't be spoiling the surprise.

This one is based on my favourite shop bought reusable bag- the Ikea blue mini shopper.
I had some medium weight black canvas and cut it to the Ikea shape, square base that gives a very cube like shape.

I like the long handles on the blue bag, so made sure mine were long enough to go over your shoulder.

The heart motif is kinda crazy patchwork that I foundation pieced then freehand squiggle stitched it on the front.

The second is simple square bag. This time the heart is a piece of plain blue denim, with squiggly freehand stitching again.

The colour went really weird in this photo. It is actually a ruby red sort of colour, but it's the only pic I have of the shape

I left the denim edges raw as I like a more deconstructed look.

I like the mock-Ikea bag. Do you have pattern dimensions? I've been looking to make some reusesable bags, but haven't found a pattern to copy that I like well enough. My nearest Ikea is 400 miles away, so no shopping for me.  Sad

I love the colors you used in the heart...very pretty.

The hearts are outstanding, they almost look like jewelry.

I love the first bag!  I love the crazy quilting you did.  Beautiful!  And clever to use the IKEA bag... those can hold so much stuff.

The second one is lovely too, I just prefer the first.  Wink

They both look like they'd hold a lot and come in really handy.  And they look really sturdy.
