I love OWLS

after knitting for years and years, I finally found the confidence to knit a sweater.  It also helps that I've acquired a new love of wearing sweaters because I hated them when I was little.  It was my time to attempt this project.  I decided to go with the OWLS pattern, and I must say I love the end result.  For a first attempt I think it came out fantastic (granted I'm a bit biased).  I made a size large and it fits really well. I messed up on the short rows cause I’ve never used them before but you can’t even tell. Even though sewing on all the owl eyes were a hassle, it was totally worth it.  I only used 4 of the 6 skeins of wool-ease chunky that I bought so either the yardage on the packaging is wrong or I knit a whole hell of alot tighter than I thought.  I still have to block it but I just couldn't resist wearing it.

I've only seen owl mittens so far, and loved them, but a whole sweater full of owl, that's even better! It's such a fun idea! Congratulations on the design and the knitting skills! And the patience to finish a sweater!

yes that was my issue.  We don't have any good yarn stores around where my school is, so I have to rely on whatever my local joann's has.  The woolease chunky worked well, but it did tend to shed which was annoying.
