I had read about craft swaps on the internet somewhere and had looked to find a site to do them on.  I found one but it was closing down, and the owner of the site suggested Craftster.  100 swaps later, I'm THRILLED to be here!  Grin

I found Craftster when I was visiting DIYLife.com

I've been a member of Craftster for a year yesterday, and, because I'm super-observant, I just noticed this thread now.  Well, better late than never!

I had "The Ultimate Dolls' House Book" (which is great, by the way) checked out from one of the local libraries, and was intrigued by a photograph of this matchbox doll house that I saw on page 111 (I scanned all of the pictures that I liked for future reference/inspiration):

So, loving both doll houses and miniatures, and wanting to see more examples of that type of thing, I did a Google image search for matchbox art, and exploring galleries of those is what eventually led me to Craftster (in particular, I believe it was photos of the results of one of your matchbox swaps).   Thus, me finding Craftster was an indirect result of researching doll stuff.

Ha, just found this thread....fun to read all the discovery posts.

I found Craftster through a search for wrap skirt pattern, one that wouldn't make me look frumpy. Found this post http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=237248.0

Then drafted a pattern from her pictures and made my own longer skirt and posted the pattern. I was hooked!

And my life, thank goodness, has never been the same. I've learned and grown and keep having so much fun. And I've met the nicest, funnest, craziest and occasionally snarkiest (only for snarky swaps and ATC's) bunch of obsessed friends ever.

I am so glad you found Craftster...you have been an inspiration to me...and now I need to make that skirt! Thanks!

ha...I have never been so productive, creative, and energetic as when I discovered Craftster...I don't remember any more how I found it...but I do know that I quickly got obsessed with swaps!  And, I do remember rackycoo having to hit me with the Limbo stick many times for my sailor mouth and going off-topic! Grin

It is a joy to watch people evolve over the years...it adds to the spice of life and probably keeps the post office and lots of crating-related businesses afloat! Grin
