Folding Cube (with link to tutorial by leighi123)

So my coworker just had a kid and is on maternal leave for about a year, and while I don't like kids, I rather like my coworker, so I made her a toy! (Which my other coworkers covet like possessed)
It's a folding cube thingy, that you can just keep on folding and folding and folding and it's very addictive...

We work at a poker company, so I used poker related fabric for the "green" side. The background of it IS green, I promise It's got basically every color of the rainbow, though I replaced orange with the multicolored red-blue-yellow thing But it's got Red-Yellow-Green-Blue-Violet (I skipped indigo too, I confess)

She hasn't gotten it yet, but I hope she'll enjoy it Everyone else at the office does

Oh, and I used way too stiff interfacing, so it's not a complete success... it works fine to play with, but it doesn't sit very prettily, as it keeps wanting to fold out

Her tutorial uses several fabrics, while mine only uses 6, giving a slightly different color effect but as far as I could tell it moves just as nicely

That's wonderful. It must have been fiddly to make though.

My cousins had a much-less-cool paper covered thing like that when I was little, but I think it only had two proper sides with pictures on. Yours is much better!

OMGosh--- I've been trying to figure out how to make one of these with dice.  I've been taping them together in all different configurations and I can't get it right!!

I'd love it if you would post tips on where the cubes are attached to each other. 

Until then, I'm going to watch the video a million times to see if I can work it out.

Thank you all I can't post a tute unfortunately, because this is from a purchased pattern. You just put all the pieces on the foam cubes with needles and then sow them together where the edges meet.
But from watching the video I'm sure you could figure it out Some pieces are square, some pieces are rectangular (i.e. two squares next to eachothers, without a seam in the middle) Just think about where it would need to have a double instead of a single, to be able to fold that way and still stick together! (and remember, doubles always go "together" like >< imagine one cube standing on edge on top, and one on the bottom)

I wonder if it's possible to purchase the pattern in the sates? It's a really neat idea almost like a rubix cube but more kids friendly! My little sister would love something like this if it had bears or penguins on it.
