I make tinctures and extracts from various herbs and I wouldn't recommend using more expensive vodka or a flavored vodka. The only important feature is the proof and you don't want any additives interfering with your tincture. If you want more extraction, you could use everclear but if you are getting the flavor you want you probably don't need to.  Smiley

Just tried this tonight - shoudl be interesting! I used 'extract grade' beans as they were a lot cheaper than the AAA grade ones (but still Madagascan) and cheap vodka.  Must be fairly strong, as I've just had a shower and can still smell the vanilla on my hands!

Xmas presents sorted this year, I think!
