My husband and I were 'gifted' this hidious TV entertainment center by my parents, when they moved out of state, this was 7 years ago.  For 2 years it sat in the then computer room as an odd storage -what-the-F-do-we-do-with-this-massive-uglyness.  My mom is good with guilt trips and would constantly remind me how much they paid for it brand new ($600, which seriously they paid $600 too much for).  My mom also had this random obsession with colonial style furniture, think dark, dark wood with large brass pulls, so this entertainment center was in this style.

Well one week later and it was perfect for our soon to be born son, this was four years ago.  The picture was taken while awaiting the birth of our daughter, hense the girly clothes, so it's seen lots of baby love since we referbished it.

We painted the roll down door open, there was a curtain rod over the open area with curtains, but when he turned 18 months he started pulling it down, so we ditched that.  The hanging rod is an adjustable shower rod and we replaced all the hardware.  When my parents first saw it, they didn't even recognize it as their old entertainment center.

Great refurbishing job.  It looks like it would hold up for many more years.

That is awesome!  (Our baby clothes still live in the pack-n-play.)  You did a great job.

Do you have before pictures?

I actually don't.  I wish we had taken before pictures, but it was a fixture at my parents house for years, so I bet there are some before pictures floating around....I'll have to ask my mom to look.
