I'd post in the swap ideas folder, but it's you guys I want to talk to!

You know how it is, you buy a cone of yarn, it costs the earth, and it lasts for ages and ages.

My idea is simple, you tell me what you have, I match you with someone with a similar stash, and you wind off balls from your cones and exchange.

(wool people with wool, cotton with cotton, 8/2 with 8/2, 10/2 with 10/2, and so forth)

For instance, I have mostly 8/2 cotton, so I'd get someone with mostly 8/2 cotton, and we send each other pictures of our cones (I have only 7, I'm a bit new at this, so that would be our upward limit, if she had more, then we'd pick the colors we'd like from the other stash, and wind off approx. 100g balls (or 50g - or whatever you and your partner decide). If she likes only four of my colors, I pick only four of hers... and so forth.   And we'd all get more colors in the yarns and sizes we use the most.

I'd be game.  I have a ton of fantastic slubby cotton mill ends that are about 10 epi, and three cones of lovely tencel that I'll never plow all the way through!
