OMG that is so awesome...it reminds me of those pictures you see made of up a million smaller pictures close up. I think the part that would be the hardest for me with that would be patience...can't buy that Tongue.

OP -

I just had to say what an awesome job you did with this! The design is awesome, and the construction looks impeccable.

I read that you developed an awesome pinning technique - do you mind sharing?  I'm a long-time lurker, and a novice quilter, and I love to hear tips from more experienced quilters (because my self-taught methods would make an experienced quilter nauseous, haha!)

Also - how did you get such amazing alignment?  That really would have ruined the piece, but you did such a great job!

TIA!

Wow! You did a wonderful job! I am sitting here thinking, 1" squares before being sewn. Lots and lots of sewing. Lots and lots of ironing. Still more sewing and more ironing. Your color graduation is great! I appreciate all the hours of work! Thank you for sharing!

Firstly thanks so much for the complements...I'm kinda self taught also, I worked for a quilt shop so I was able to learn from the more experienced quilters and get some tips...but when sewing such small pieces instead of cutting the thread after sewing two peices together you just chain sew them and keep going...cutting them apart after you get so many sewed together..it works wonders and is a great time saver!
