Cute Ruffle Mini-Dress made out of shirt and dress

Last minute inspiration and the need/want for a new 'little black dress' led to this!
Impatient me forgot to take before pictures (argh!) 
The beige part was a button up shirt that was too short for me.  The ruffles ran vertical on each side of the front of the shirt so I just cut off the front panel(?) and used it as a top.  The shirt itself was pretty thin, so I had to line the bodice with another panel of the shirt, using the back piece.  It's plenty snug so I don't have to worry about it slip-sliding.    The bottom part was just another dress that I didn't like the bodice of.  It was sequiny and wayyy too low. 
I actually started off with a completely different plan for it, but ended up with this.  For once, I'm actually thrilled with the improvisation.  It doesn't usually end up wearable...   Enough jabber, here's pictures!

This is a great job, but I love the way the final photo came out. That retro polaroid feel sets the whole piece of to a tee!

Yeah, both the beige fabric and black are stretchy.  Yay, no zippers!
