Hi! This is my first embroidery project ever (with floss- I did a few crewl kits before that). But it's not the first one I posted. I always loved a cross stitch with this phrase that my mom did for my dad when I was little. Now that I'm married and we have 2 kids, I wanted to do a similar project for my amazing husband. But I hate cross stitch, so I found a graphic I liked on the computer and just went for it. I used a satin stitch for all of it- the letters took a long time! My husband liked it alot and it gave me confidence to do more embroidery. Now I'm hooked! Thanks for looking!

*I saw a version of this online that said "any man can be a sperm donor; it takes someone special to be a father." I kind of liked this, but didn't think I wanted a picture with the word "sperm" on my living room wall. Maybe I'm a prude. lol.

Fantastically done! The letters look wonderful! I thought that they were just printed off onto paper at first, but it turns out that you're just great. Wink

The sperm donor comment is funny, but I personally think that the phrase that you chose is something that will be heartwarming for years to come. You know, such as, even if you put it away for a while and your children come across it after they've grown up... that kind of thing.

I'm sooooo sappy that way, though.  Cheesy

I'm not sappy in the slightest but I agree with everything Cassiege said.
The sentiment hits the spot and the execution of the piece is spot on.

Wow, that's a serious amount of satin stitching!! Very nicely done Smiley . And I totally agree with the sentiment.
