Cup o Noodles it is, crafting costs too much!

I went to the Puyallup Sew Expo last weekend and had a blast. It was my first time at an expo and now I am addicted. I went knowing that I would fall in love with so much cool stuff. What I didn't know was that I wouldn't walk out with everything.

I have been wanting to buy this Farmer's Market Fabric from RJR fabrics for a while now, but I like to see my fabric in person first. I saw a sample table runner displayed with the fabric and had to go on search. I found it and they even had the runner in little kits. Normally I don't buy kits, I prefer to pick my own fabrics and get larger cuts so I have the extra for other projects, but this was the stuff I wanted so I spurgled and got the kit and pattern.

I had an American Sewing Guild meeting on Wednesday to show off what we got at expo. I wanted to show the finished product so I worked all Wednesday morning to finish it; however, in this kit they didn't give me enough fabric for the binding (I said I didn't like kits). I went to the quilting store that our meeting was at and bought the amount I needed and finished it the next day.

I have never hand sewn my binding and I did for this. I now think the hand sewing is sort of relaxing and I know why so many people do it.

Anyhow on to the pictures:

This fabric is so yummy, it makes me hungry every time I look at it.

Yum - great work.  It's making my mouth water a bit to look at!

Is the kit put out by any company in particular?  I did a bit of poking around online, and I didn't see it anywhere, but I've love to find a place I could order it online!

I got the pattern from these people, but looking online they don't sell it. It is made by them.

My place is usually tidier than this.

Oh I just love all those fruity fabrics!  I have them all on my wists, sigh, but I can't afford to buy anything new right now.  I want to cover my kitchen with them, and your runner is a beautiful inspiration.

That fabric is amazing, you did a really spectacular job.  I know what you mean about hand-sewing!

I like it. It makes me want an apple. And some peas. Not together though.

I can see why you went ahead & got the kit...that fabric rocks! And the finished runner is great Smiley
I've wondered about getting a kit from time to time...mostly when in a crafty-slump - takes the planning part out & gets right down to business Tongue
