I had a friend request a custom wallet with 8 credit card slots, plus a checkbook slot. I had to figure all this out, since I had no pattern, and I'm super proud of the results! I've never made a wallet before, so this was quite the learning experience. I also lucked out and found a magnetic closure that matched perfectly!

It looks really neat and a great pattern you developed.

I like it how you placed the colibri as a focal point on the front part of the wallet, it really makes the fabric pop. Smiley

It's a very nice design, I think your friend will find if very comfortable.

One thing I would probably do differently is making the card slots out of blue and patterned fabric alternatively, to get a bit more colour into there. But that's just my two cents.

Great job!

That would definitely be more visually interesting, but the credit card skies are actually one 8 x 18 piece of fabric folded to size, with topstitching on the top if each slot, so it would be a completely different design concept for that section. Plus, once her cards are in there, you only see the bottom slot, anyway. I did the checkbook slot in the outer fabric only because I ran out of the lining fabric!

That's true, you won't be seeing too much of the blue (mind you I do love the colour!) once the cards are in, so it won't have that "too much" feeling.
I've seen the folding technique used, but never tried it myself. It does seem a hell of a lot easier and less messy than the technique I use hehe Smiley

Thanks, everyone! I really like creating new patterns. A big part of the thrill of crafting for me is figuring out how things are made, and learning new skills, so this wad a blast.
