So I've been in a very geeky mood lately... see my recent periodic table quilt - http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=294940.0

I prepped an apple pi (premade crust), tried to cut out a pi from the top crust... but it didn't work too well, so I put it in the freezer for a bit, to make it harder, so it wouldn't just tear and what not... then I took extra crust and cut out the numbers of pi... and placed them around the edge. I pinched them a bit at the edges so they wouldn't just flake off...

The result?

An apple pi pie.

If it is as tasty as it is mathematical, it'll be super awesome! As it is, it's still awesome. So do you technically call this "pi/pie squared"? Smiley

@ Malica: Both Pi day and square root day (this time it was 3/3/09, next time will be 4/4/16). I am excited for 2015, because that pi day will be 3/14/15. Even better

They sell Pi shaped cookie cutters... I did that one year... before I knew they sold pi shaped cookie cutters... and as a surprise for my calc teacher p-lu... I made her a lot of them... hand shaped... then she looked online and discovered pi shaped cookie cutters - which she'd thought I'd used... I guess I'd done a good job.

Before that she gave out little mini pies on pi day...

Too bad it's not on a school day this year... and that I'm no longer in high school.
