Love them! Spats are amazing and I'm definitely going to make some myself (isn't it great being able to make stuff that will actually fit? I have larger-than-average calves so definitely wouldn't be able to buy a standard pair).

The lining fabric is great and I like the ribbon too. They look brilliant on! Smiley

And yes! I have large calves too.  A "standard" pair would've been too small, but these are perfect.  I friend asked to try them on and her legs were swimming in them.

How else would spats close?  Zipper maybe?  Buttons?  I thought about buttons, but honestly I didn't want to make all those button holes.  The grommets were much easier!

Again, thanks for all the complements!  I'm getting started on a spring pair.  I'm thinking angle height with lace and cameos.  Something way over the top!

I  have always loved spats and made a similar creation for the Renaissance fair, but they were buch more rustic.  These are beautiful and the lining is gorgeous.  They look as if you could wear them inside out.  Thanks for sharing!
