I can't crochet and nor had I ever made a bikini before.  But a friend of mine asked if I could make her an teeny tiny crochet bikini (damn her having such a hot body).

I remembered I had a crochet tablecloth I had picked up at the 2nd hand shop for something like $0.20c ages ago and so drew up somewhat of a pattern (lmao not that there was really much to draw up).

that is so cute! and hilarious that she'd ask you to make it when you'd never done anything like it before -- she must have known you were a genius.

i love the composition of the photo, too.

The thumbnail looks a little "smiley face" to me, too. LOL.
Great job! I have an old crochet tablecloth that is half unravelled like that, too. I have been using it for little projects. Hmmmm. Are crochet bikinis back in? I don't have a "hot body", but with a bit more modest pattern, I could probably swing it. Can you actually swim in crochet? I am a bit of a tomboy. Grin

I love how cute that is but I have a few questions.

Is it just a show piece or can she actually swim in it? And what is the backing/ties made out of? I really love this, and actually am imspired to make one now (with more to it of course) but I'd like to be able to swim in mine if it's possible. I realize you said you've never made one before, but ya never know.

It's actually able to be used for swimming in, it's backed in skin coloured lycra so it won't be see through either when wet.  I can't wait to see pics if you make one  Smiley
