These are from last week! Smiley

Merino Roving

Handspun

Kool-aid dyed, and called "Spectrum" (I spun it in honor of my daughter who has Autism and started her Special Olympics training today!

This one is called "Beet Juice" (which would be cooler if I had actually used beets to dye it, but I used Kool-Aid)

Thanks everyone!  I have a bunch of other yarns to share soon!

I love, love, LOVE that patchwork yarn! The colors are amazing! Everyone else has made really beautiful yarns this week, too! I have some new rovings, and spinning them is on my to-do list, but I had a really terrible week and haven't had time :\

Homegrownrose - Your yarns look great, isn't it fun taking a ball of white fluff and making beautiful yarn from it?! Wish your daughter all the best, my aunt has down syndrome and has always participated in Special Olympics. It is an organization near and dear to our hearts.

I didn't get to post yesterday, because my camera borked right before I was to take the pics Sad  But I borrowed my friend's camera and got my pics taken this morning, so I hope no one minds if I am posting my stuff a day late.

These are my first yarns that I have spun up on my new espinner that I got for my birthday!   Grin

First up is Lime Squishee:
Spun from hand dyed mill ends, this is sooo soft and ummm, SQUISHEE!

Next is Orange Sunshine:
Also hand dyed mill ends in orange, pink and yellow, plied with invisible thread with a few coils here and there.  This is even squishier than the lime one.

The Viking:
My daughter's Viking obsessed boyfriend named this one.  It is just everything that was in my big bale sample that came with my SSS order.  I was bored and uninspired, so I just grabbed that and started rough spinning handfuls of it.  I am pleased with how it actually came out!

And last up is Blueberry Twist:

Oh boy, I am LOVING the espinner *bounce*

I think my favourites are Moon Jelly and Glamourous Garden Party, but there's all sorts of amazingness going on here as ever. I'm so excited to think that soon I'll have something of my own to share! I've ordered a gorgeous walnut and sycamore hand-turned drop spindle from a lovely little shop on the Isle of Wight (which most of you have probably never heard of - it's a sweet and very historic little island off England's south coast, popular for family holidays and retired couples). It hasn't arrived yet, but I'll show you what has:

Arousal, the beautiful hand-dyed roving I ordered from BarristerLaneFibers on Etsy. Isn't it gorgeous? The photographs I managed to take on my crappy little camera really don't do it justice; it's the most gorgeous mix of pinks and purples. I want to ply it with something black and sparkly. But wait! There's more!

I told the shop owner that I was a brand spanking newbie, and she threw in this vibrant red and orange (*not* pink, despite the fact that it looks that way in this photo) batting for free. She described it as a factory second that she didn't want to sell, but I can't for the life of me work out what could possibly be wrong with it!

I'm so looking forward to receiving my drop spindle and spinning these up.

When she was good, she was very very good - but when she was bad she was fabulous.

Thank you all so much!  I'm awfully proud of my daughter for doing the Special Olympics.  She's such a sweetheart.  I'm so glad you all like the yarn too!! Smiley  It was a lot of fun to spin up!

Everyone has such beautiful yarns.  I've been really enjoying the Fiber Friday posts!

I havent done much this week.

Firstly, I finished spinning the brown wool I had left over from another week, I just need to set it later this evening

And then I started a pink wool.
Heres my progress with it so far:

I have a bunch of fibers in the mail to me, so I cant wait til they arrive
