Here is the blanket I made for my friend, who is expecting.  I picked the colours so that they are bright and cheerful, not the pale yellows, blues, etc that are usually in the baby section. It took me a while, because I am fairly new at crochet and stitching them all together was not as easy as I thought.  I washed it and a bit of it came undone, but it has since been mended.  At least it came unstitched for me & not my friend!

.

Cheers!

This is cute. I always like the idea of using brights rather than pastels for babies, it seems so much happier and it must be a lot more stimulating for them.

When she was good, she was very very good - but when she was bad she was fabulous.

You're right, babies do see bright colours better than pale.  Also your friend can keep using the blanket once the little one is past the 'cute baby' stage.  They outgrow things so quickly.

I love the use of small and larger shapes - you should post some close up pics.

OOh, that's pretty!  You did such a nice job.  Took me years of crocheting before I had enough guts to takle something that wasn't scarf-shaped.  Hats off to you, Lollipop!

That's adorable! I love the colors, great choice. And....it will match ANY decor it's used in! Great job. It took me years to muster up the courage, time, and patients to do anything that wasn't a straight line. haha.

That's so pretty!  Did you wash it in the washing machine or hand wash?  If you did it in the washing machine, kudos!  I have yet to have any of my crochet stuff stand up to a washing machine, even on the hand wash selection.
