I love, love love antique watches Smiley and I wanted to make something antique-ish looking from the old, ugly watches i had laying around!! So, i comibined it with my love for old maps and made this:

The map looks pixelated, but I swear its not in real life!! haha. Its an old bestian map of England  Grin Its strung from leather with a pin on the back and had a dragonfly and a rose to give a little 'extra'.

Please let me know what you think!! Good OR bad!!!

That's a very lovely brooch, but did you by any chance get that rose off a ring? Because I have exactly the same one:

i love how you "restored" an old watch. The dragonfly is very cute. I should do something with our many old watches=)

Thanks! I wasn't sure if the DragonFly was too much, thank you for helping me to make up my mind!! The rose was off a pair of earings!! Maybe they are a long lost set!!  Cheesy

Ha, maybe, I wouldn't know! When we bought our car (second hand) we cleaned it, and I found this ring under one of the seats, so I've been wearing it ever since Smiley I think it's real silver, as I'm allergic to most other metals and I've ner had any reaction the ring Smiley

I really do love the brooch though, I love that you left the leather on - I would never have thought of that!!
And I like that there's a map in it, rather than a picture Smiley

Thanks!
I think the rose is pewter... could be (unpolished) Silver though! haha, i love it when you find things that are beautiful!! I added the leather, the original strap had gone nasty   Lips sealed
Yeah, I put a map in as I'd seen a few with pics in and i though it would look more mythical and compass-y with an old map in Smiley
