Yay first buzz-through with my new program, not much, probably about 10 mins worth or so, but its a start^^   I was thinking that art like this would be really cool to use on bags/purses if i do an iron on transfer dealio (I'm too poor for anything more high-tech)

Hey cool! Is that off a real life picture and added effects to it to make it look like that? Photoshop has a similar thing to make real life photos look like drawings but doesn't look nearly as coolas that. Or is that just a straight up drawing?

I was from a photo of myself, I used illustrator to just layer shapes on eachother to get the effect, I'm really excited to try and use something like this on a bag or some other project.

I have a lot of Adobe experience and yet can't seem to get started on doing this.  If you have any tips to share, they would be extremely appreciated.  Smiley

and your picture looks awesome.  I really like.  You have an amazing eye for color.

I love the picture! I have always loved that kind of art.

We made portraits like that in school (I went to Illustration and Design), and what we did was taking a photo, uploading in to Photoshop and adjust the contrast a bit to make the different 'shapes' more visible. Then we printed the photo, and traced the outlines on a new piece of paper. Then we scanned the drawing with the outlines into Illustrator, and used different layers to get the colorblocks. I don't exactly remember the actual Illustrator process, but I will try to relearn it, because I want to make portraits of my boyfriend and me for our new apartment.

I might post a pic of my portrait if I can find one.
