Hello, I thought I would post a picture of a freeform crochet scarf:

I love to crochet, but find myself drawn to freeform work.

Regards,

Carla

This is beautiful. It's crochet as art - it's as varied as, say, freeform beading. I love it.

When she was good, she was very very good - but when she was bad she was fabulous.

It looks very romantic, maybe a little victorian. I don't know, that's the vibe I get. It's gorgeous.

Reminds me of a rose bush gone wild. I like it.

Thanks for your posts and comments.  Yes, it was easy to make- a beginner's project.  I wrote a tutorial on my blog for how to do this:

http://featheredfibers.wordpress.com/2008/09/28/carlas-freeform-crochet-scarf-tutorial/

The key is in the color and texture selection, but I cover that in the tutorial.

If you make something, let me know, I would love to see how it turns out.

Take care, Carla

Wow, that's really pretty! I'm definitely trying this as soon as I can get enough different yarns together.
