Wow! I love quilts, but I could never be patient enough to work on one for more than 1 hour or so at a time - it would likely take me a zillion years to finish it!
It really reminds me of a quilt my mother-in-law is making; same idea with the blocks of 2" squares, only the squares are folded into a base fabric to create a really intricate textural pattern as well as color pattern.
I hope you post pics of the finished product!

love the song and the quilt I actually have  "a coat of many colors" that my grannys mom made for her.  I love it. HIDEOUSLY  ugly but I love the devotion behind it!
