I have to come clean, I am not ready for a fixie at this point, this is a free wheel. I'm hoping that I will be fixed by the end of the summer though! Any pointers?

use toe clips. and don't live in a really hilly place;) and remember to lock your rear wheel--theives carry wrenches and that wheel ain't cheap.

generally I think top tube protectors are kind of ridiculous (like, that's what the bike's painted for, and if you're gonna go through the work of stripping off derailleurs why bother adding anything else?) but yours is really sweet. awww, bike sweater. every bike deserves a sweater.

I am always giving objects feelings, like last night when I ate noodles out of the chipped bowl because no one ever uses him and he must be sad.
So I really do love this idea, bikes must be so cold in the winter!

All I did was measure the circumference of the top tube on my bike, and then I decided how wide to make each cable, and casted on accordingly to whatever was going to be closest to the width that I needed. I then just repeated cables until it was as long as I wanted it. You could do this with any sort of pattern! I then sewed the piece of fabric around my top tube, and viola! A bike sweater was born.

I made one of these for myself and my boyfriend after seeing this post! He loves his and apparently gets a lot of looks from the ladies while he's biking, hehe, which boosts his ego, of course, but he knows they're only after his rocking bike. All his hipster bike friends are so jealous. Cheesy

Sorry for the lame pictures, my newer camera broke and I was forced to use and old one.
