I made this in a couple of days, it a little redundant with the constant cabling but I think it's very cute!

I want to make more soon.

That's a really awesome idea. I want to make one for my bike now. Did you just seem it on or did you make a way to take it on & off?

I have to come clean, I am not ready for a fixie at this point, this is a free wheel. I'm hoping that I will be fixed by the end of the summer though! Any pointers?

I seemed it on. I was going to use buttons, but I forgot when I started making it and I didn't really allow enough space for the buttons. I'll probably make a few more (with buttons), when I am bored with this one seeing as how I have to cut it off. (Which will be pretty painful, I can't even bare to think about it right now.)

This is completely cool. What yarn did you use? What about velcro? Easier than buttons and not as painful as cutting.

I used Caron acrylic yarn that my boyfriends mom gave me. (There was a price sticker on it that said either 79 or 97 cents, who knows how long ago she got it!) Velcro is a great idea! Do you just sew it directly on to the fabric? But still, buttons are really cute.

That is pretty fantastic, I have to say.  Much better than the canvas ones you see velcro-d on most fixies/ss.
