Interesting!  I've never seen this kind of machine before!  That is really neat and they came out nicely.  I recently learned how to make these bows by hand and have enjoyed putting them on gifts.

Can you re-roll other ribbons on empty spools?  I re-roll film on old spools when I need a certain size, maybe the same thing could work for this machine!

When I was about 9 my mom worked at Hallmark and they used these to make the bows on their packages they wrapped.  During Christmas, she would bring it home and make the bows ahead of time...I feel in love.  I haven't seen one since then...how cool.

Update--I moved it off my table this afternoon, mainly because every time I walked by I had the urge to stop and change out the ribbon and make another bow!  I am about 95% sure that this little jewel was used in one of our "fancy" department stores downtown (remember when you went "downtown" to shop?) in the 1950-60's or there abouts, so it is like a piece of my hometown's history--I just love it!  I know I'm Crazy!

That isn't a home model bow maker, it was probably $300 new & it's meant for commercial use in a florist shop or other place that would do bows. GREAT find! I've used one in a florist shop, they are quite fun Smiley

I agree, re-rolling new ribbon onto the empty spools would probably work as long as it's the correct width.

I also second selling bows made from cool ribbon Smiley

I am so jealous! When I was little my grandparent's owned a drug store and my grandma taught me how to use a machine just like this one and she let me sell them for 5 cents each.
Seeing one brought back the best memories!
Great Estate Sale Find!!

Good find! I always get so jealous when people come across cool stuff like this when all I ever find is junk.

Professionally speaking, I would say that thing is straight outta the florist industry, very cool!
