Long story short, I am a broke student with a semi-formal/formal event to go to and my dress is not that fancy. I have under 2 weeks until the event and I can't afford a new dress, or new shoes, so I'm left having to improvise some accessories that will fancy up the dress. The dress is a Banana Republic little black dress with a purple satin panel in the middle of the front, it's also belted with a black belt (attached to the dress). I would like to get some kind of fancy gold headband or hair accessory to make the whole outfit pop a little (I recently got a shorter haircut, about chin length, and am not used to not being able to do things with my hair as well). I wondered if anyone had any good ideas or could point me to some good tutes. I was thinking a gold to go with the black/purple. My shoes that I will probably wear are a pewter color with kind of a gold sheen although I'm not too worried about matching those, just fitting the dress code (barely!). Here are some headbands etc that I particularly like, if that helps:

I also would like something like this if it had two.. straps (bands?)

I have no idea where to start with this. I can sew and have a ton of craft supplies (including gold ribbon and tulle) and am used to needlework, gluing, paper crafts, etc.. so it doesn't have to be a beginner project, I just need somewhere to start! I also don't mind buying supplies, obviously. Any help would be much appreciated. I can post a picture of the dress later if it helps!!

Thanks in advance!!
