A few months ago I bought this beat up old clock for $2.99. I knew it would come in handy one day, it was just waiting for the right moment to strike. Hurrah for craftster challenge #36!

So, I've taken my beat up old dear and turned her into an ode to one of my favourite songs... Swingin' on a Star!

I've painted my two favourite lines down either side of the clock...
"You can be better than you are,
You could be swingin' on a star"

Here's some more pics to gander at...

My mom used to sing this to my brother and I as kids. I love this song! And your interpretation is so sweet!

This is really cool!  I love the fact that the pendulum is a star now, and the clock face is great.  Does it still work?  Great job!

Thanks peeps.

I suppose that $2.99 does not buy a working clock so the clocky parts need to be replaced. I haven't replaced them yet but  I will before the year is through. Doing something with the clock was on my list of "50 things to do" so I kinda need to get it working for it to be counted as a completed project and strike it off my list Smiley

Fabulous!

And the "before" clock fits the verse "or would you like to be a mule?"

Awesome painting!
I remember this song from when I was little...probably haven't heard it in 20 years. Thanks for bringing back great memories!
