It's just acrylic. I sealed the base with a gloss polymer when it was done but left the moon face matte.

You're really good at painting! Its so detailed.
This is a newb question, but what kind of paint did you use?

Doh! I probably should have explained the song a bit. It's from the 1940's. It's been sung by Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra (and loads of others). When I was young we would sing it in school music class. It's quite sweet really... all about how you'd better go to school or else you might become a monkey.

Here are the full lyrics...

Would you like to swing on a star
Carry moonbeams home in a jar
And be better off than you are
Or would you rather be a mule

A mule is an animal with long funny ears
He kicks up at anything he hears
His back is brawny - and his brain is weak
Hes just plain stupid with a - stubborn streak

And by the way, if you hate to go to school
You may grow up to be a mule

Would you like to swing on a star
Carry moonbeams home in a jar
And be better off than you are
Or would you rather be a pig

A pig is an animal with dirt on his face
His shoes are a terrible disgrace
He aint got no manners when he eats his food
Hes fat and lazy - and extremely rude

But if you dont care a feather or a fig
You may grow up to be a pig

Would you like to swing on a star
Carry moonbeams home in a jar
And be better off than you are
Or would you rather be a fish

A fish wont do anything but swim in a brook
He cant write his name or read a book
And to fool the people is his only thought
Though he slippery - he still gets caught

But then if that sort of life is what you wish
You may grow up to be a fish

And all the monkeys arent in a zoo
Every day you meet quite a few
So you see its all up to you
You can be better than you are
You could be swinging on a star

My Grammie used to sing that song to me when I was little.  If I was sick or upset about something, she would rock me in her rocking chair and sing it...can still hear her voice  Smiley

This clock is fabulous!!!  I love it and want it hanging on my wall  Wink  Just gorgeous.
