I've been playing with clock bits lately, trying to get away from the gears-glued-together look I keep seeing in "steampunk" jewelry, and towards a more arcane aesthetic. Here are the initial results; respectively, a pin, a pendant, and a pair of asymmetrical earrings...

JEALOUS!

I still haven't been able to get any clock/watch parts myself.  I get so jealous every time I see steampunk stuff on here.

these do look great by the way.   Smiley

I LOVE it!  This is exactly how we were encouraged to build models in school ("you aren't going to /glue/ a building together, are you?"  <insert snarky teacher voice>) so I think this is crazy awesome, and very well executed.

Ebay. I got a huge lot of miscellaneous clock hands about a year ago, and I'm still working through them...

Thank you so much!

The only glue in any of those is the epoxy holding the pin back onto the first piece, although I don't know if I'd trust a building held together with 28-gauge wire, either...  Grin

tried it.  refuse to pay anywhere near $20 for a tiny vial.  I can never find the reasonable "buy it now" items and by the time the end of bidding comes, they're in the neighborhood of $20.  that's why I haven't got myself any yet.   Sad

Ugh, that's a shame. I must have found mine just before they got popular.
I've heard of a couple folks asking around local clockmakers' shops for extra / scrap parts, which might be worth a try...
