I'm not a llama, but I've kissed an alpaca!

I went to the Cleveland one recently, and it's GREAT!

See here for a list of US/Canada ReStores:

http://www.habitat.org/env/restores.html

From the site:

Habitat ReStores are retail outlets where quality used and surplus building materials are sold at a fraction of normal prices. Proceeds from ReStores help local affiliates fund the construction of Habitat houses within the community. Many affiliates across the United States and Canada operate successful ReStoressome of which raise enough funds to build an additional 10 or more houses per ye

If you're working on your house, you can find sinks, carpet, tile, flooring, appliances...and lots of weird little bits and bobs that could be made into any number of crafty things. (If I ever find enough French doors that are the same height, I'm making a room divider...)

I clicked on your link, but then it was the dreaded "page requested not found" - I tried finding the Re Store information on the Habitat websight but no luck - can you tell me how to navigate through the habitat page to find it or re-link the list of Re Stores? I think this is a great idea and I really want to check it out!
Thanks in advance!

Try this:  http://www.habitat.org/local/

Enter in your zipcode, and it will tell you the closest one to you.

Oh wow! I didn't think there would be one in my neighborhood but its not even a half hour from me! I needed some new things to spruce up the place and if my proceeds are going to a worthy cause, all the better!

So I got a little notice that this post was updated, and checked it out...  just to see what was said.  On a whim, I checked the website, and they're getting ready to put a ReStore in my neighborhood!  I am SO excited right now!  Just had to share.   Grin

When I lived close to one of these, we would go regularly.  One time two sisters and I went, and when we left, we looked like the "Clampetts" with all the stuff we had hanging out of our vehicle! Grin

It was great!

More thrift store/yard sale priced than anything else.
