Hello everyone!
Like so many other students, right now I should be buried behind my books and think about nothing but psychology. But.... instead I got totally crafty (that always seems to happen to me once I really don't have time!) and sewed a lot of inapropriate spring clothes (inappropriate meaning not wearable right now). Here is the prettiest piece: Simplicity 4070!
I know it looks kind of wonky but the fabric was a lot harder to work with than I had thought!

With a scarf (I always wear scarves, no matter the weather)

With a shawl:

To balance out the kind of frustrating work on this dress, I made some easy, quickly-satisfying accessories to match - some ribbon covered headbands and a yoyo ring and brooch!

Now please... keep your fingers crossed for me to succeed in my exams despite having spent all that time on crafting!

it is always best to sew instead of study. in fact right now i'm planning sewing projects in my brain and looking at craftster instead of finishing a 15 page paper comparing contemporary art criticism to an essay on a Courbet painting... riveting.

such a fun dress. gotta love warm weather clothing! i love how clean and smooth the top edge of the bodice is, great job!

Wow, thanks for all your kind replies! It feels so good to be told it's ok to craft. My fellow students are all raving and rantin about how much time they spend studying (not that I don't have to prepare for my exams!) and sewing to me is almost a guilty pleasur Cheesy

Good luck!!! I'm also in your boat. I've got a midterm tomorrow (Environmental Sciences; looking at hydrology and the atmosphere in detail), and another on Friday (Chemistry) and I find myself drifting off into the wonderful land of crafting, thinking about the outfits I'm making for a fashion show. I got so excited that I finished the bodice of one of the pieces (actually, it's the bodice of Simplicity 4070!!!) before I calmed down and studied. and here I am LOL.

I LOVE THE DRESS!!! I've been skeptical about making the bubble-hem dress from the pattern, but after looking at your post I've been inspired for a wedding I'm going to in July.

Good luck tomorrow!!!

suuuper super cute!  I have this pattern and I've been wanting to try it and now I REALLY want to make it!

Did you think the sizing ran large or small or anything?  I always have trouble with patterns, picking the wrong size.
