My boyfriend (who definitely ROCKS  Cool) got me a Brother Innovis 10 Anniversary for Christmas.

I had had my new sewing machine in my craving little hands for probably a minute when a friend of mine, who is an obstetrician, asked me to make her a delivery room scrub hat in some cute/unusual/stupid fabric.
She described how she wanted it, but I had absolutely no idea how to make it, until I found this great tutorial thank you alliblack!

This is my first true sewing project with my new machine (apart from trousers hems...) and probably the second or third in my whole life.

Here it is:

Hope you like it, and most of all I hope its functional for a delivery room  Undecided

Good job.  I am a vet tech and have to wear those hats in surgery.  They are always stupid neon lizard prints or something.  I think I will try the tut so now I can have one I don't feel rediculous wearing!  The pattern is perfect for an OB.  Nice work!

If my OB was wearing this hat, I'd be thrilled!  They all just wear shower cap like things that are disposable... not very pretty...  I wonder if I should whip a bunch up and give them as gifts to the hospital I delivered my babies in?  probably Smiley
