made from a long tiered skirt from the value village:

it's really fluffy and great for spinning around in... and since the sewing machine kept jamming and because i'm lazy, it's a wrap skirt!!!!  it was sooooo easy, and quick too-- maybe half an hour to start to finish?

thanks for looking Smiley

This looks great!
And if it's as easy to make as you say, I think this could be the next one I sew Cheesy

what an awesome idea Smiley
i have a bunch of those long tiered skirts from when they were "in" but they make this chubby chicka look like a tub-o-frills...

i always though shortening them could help, but I also love pettis Smiley

yeah!  you should totally make one-- i just cut the skirt in half horizontally and used the bottom... it's amazing how much fabric is there-- i probably wrap the thing 8 times around my waist.  if anyone has questions on how i did it, i'd be happy to help.

How clever! I've got a ton of those skirts that I used to wear- but aren't really my style anymore. Let me ask you- you cut it in half horizontally and then what? Did you cut the top half too and then sew them together to make one long strip or did you just somehow sew the bottom strip onto the top half....?

That's a cute idea!! Plus, I love Value Village! We don't have them on this side of the state, but when I lived on the other side my mom, sister, and I would go there a lot.

thanks everyone, and sorry I didn't reply earlier!!  I'll try to add a tutorial today, but for now: the original skirt looked something like this: http://www.funfancyoriginals.com/Page_48__192P.jpg and it was at least a full circle skirt on the bottom.
