So I bought Simplicity 2685 a few weeks back from JoAnn's 99cent pattern sale.  I just got around to sewing it.  I used some fabric I had in my stash, as well as a button that I've had forever.  Getting the pleating just right while keeping the top of the bag straight was a bit of a hassle.  Also, I thank god I remember where I put my loop turner, the handles would have been hell without it!  Overall, I'm super stoked about my new bag.  I think it came it pretty awesome, especially since I normally make clothing, so purses are still really new to me.  Hope you think it's as cool as I do!

Oh yeah, the pocket was my own addition.  What is a purse if there are no pockets to store all your crap in?  I also omitted the stitching around the pleating.  I don't think anyone will notice, and it helped me to keep my sanity.  I have no desire to stich around like 15 individual pleats!

I like your bag. The fabric is a good combo too. Nice job!

Thanks.  The fabric was in the quilting sec. of JoAnns like a year ago.  I remember I had a 50% off coupon, so I'm sure it was super affordable.  (I never buy fabric from JoAnn's without a coupon...what can I say, I'm frugal!)

I bought it just because I liked it, no real use.  I'm so happy I found some way to use it that can be seen.  It makes me happy Smiley

That is way cool. I like the contrasting fabrics you used. Thanks for posting the pattern - I may have to try that sometime.

I really like the fabric you chose, and the design. I had a bag similar to this from H&M a few years ago that I carried around until it was really dingy and kind of falling apart. It held a lot more than it looked like it would!

Great bag.  I really like the pleated look.  I'm going to have to try out this pattern!
