I've kissed alot of frogs - only found 1 prince

It was almost too hard for me to choose
Just one song that I would use
Should I walk the line with Johnny Cash
or do something from the Clash?

Show you the beat that my heart skipped?
or explore dinosaurs getting ripped?
we could have coffe with dethklok,
or be a cowboy like Kid rock.

My mind kept leaning to Scroobius Pip
but you would only know him if you are hip
I could have hoped you'd dance like Ms. Rimes
or pick a song about the times.

I even thought about Robert Plant
or that one song by Adam Ant.
I do want your extra time and your kiss
you know by the artist formery known as prince?

But I wanted something with a little class
though I do love Eminem's Shake that ass
then in the back of my mind I heard my concious call
saying the song for me - Pink Floyd's the wall

Ok so my little poem is slightly lame, and honestly doesn't even begin to touch on all the songs that ran through my head when I considered what I could do for this challenge.  I've been on Craftster for a bit over 2 years and have never actually entered any of the challenges.

This project I'm presenting is something I've tried before in the past, to no avail.  It was never quite right in any of my previous attempts.  It's definitely much closer this time around to what I envisioned in my head it being.

It's lap/throw size

And my pictures might be even lamer than my poem Tongue

This is how dead-on your project is:  I thought you lived in an urban loft and just decorated one of your brick walls.  Then I realized (thanks to the other posters) it was a quilt!  I thought your lap/throw size reference was JUST a size reference.  DUH.  I guess it's not good to Craftster before coffee.  Smiley

i like it a lot!  your pics are good but leave some curiosities about technique: did you use reverse applique?  are the letterings hand-embroidered?

(these might be silly questions, because i am still really bad at sewing.)

It's actually individually cut bits of fabric sewn together in traditional quilting style.  I'll post a few other photos later on today that actually show it's a blanket.  And I did the embroidery with my Janome Machine.  I found a pink floyd font and digitized the lettering and let the machine do the rest Smiley  I tried to fit the bricks so that it looked like they are actually part of the wall rather than just randomly sewn into it Smiley

It's from Marcus Brothers fabrics, I found it a few years back and bought the entire bolt I know there is another fabric designer that has a brick pattern too but I can't remember who it is, though I know the bricks in that one are larger scale.

The wizard of oz fabric line (follow the yellow brick road) has a solid brick pattern out on the market too.

Great Job! When I first looked at it I thought you decorated your wall LOL. You should put that it is a quilt above the pic or something because a lot of people just scroll the pictures. I love it. It is so well done I thought it was real.
