http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?board=424.0

Who doesn't love buttons?!  They're colorful, fun and often so cheap!  This challenge calls for you to decorate an existing item in any room of your home with buttons.

You can use buttons from your stash, purchase new or vintage buttons, or even craft your own buttons!  Glue, sew, resin, or use any method you want to attach the buttons.  Your object could be something as small as a soap dish in your bathroom or even as big as a piece of furniture in your living room.  Just choose an object and make sure the end result is adorned with buttons.

Official Rules:

  • Post your craft during the period of April 1 - April 5 2009.  No sooner.  No later.  On April 1 there will be a special folder created for entries.
  • Voting will happen from April 6 - April 12 2009.
  • Each participant can enter ONE project although there can be multiple parts to your project.

Originality:

It's probably impossible to know whether your project is 100% original, has never been posted on Craftster, or made by anyone else in the past.  But if your project was definitely inspired by something you've seen before, then just give credit to that project.

Prizes:

At the end, I'll set up a poll right here and the first prize winner will get:

(1) their project in the Featured Projects area
(2) their project in the Craftster Blog
(3) and this prize:

A copy of Button It Up: 80 Amazing Vintage Button Projects for Necklaces, Bracelets, Embellishments, Housewares & More by Susan Beal.

From Amazon.com80 cute-as-a-button projects.  Buttons are back.  Susan Beal, author of Bead Simple, details 80 fashionable projects including bold and beautiful pendants, rings, bracelets, necklaces, brooches, earrings, and more.  Also included are instructions for an eye-catching assortment of accessories and housewares, from bookmarks and keychains to purses, market totes, and embellished curtains.  Readers will find fun sections on vintage button history and culture.

So who's got the button??

I know exactly what I want to do for this!  I'm not sure I can get it done by the deadline, but at the very least I will finally get a big project that I've wanted to do for ages done.
