my hubby grew up in carmen. it's a nice town! I actually want to move there but he doesn't want to have to drive in to work. My friends actually own the Oxbow out there! And I love to visit the dutch bakery. If you haven't already, go there and have a croissant. Go now. Do not wait. D: it's on the little street between the TD Bank and umm... the clothing stores and stuff. Oh and if you ever go into Evensong I probably know whoever is running the counter there, too! Cheesy  Nice people. Nice store, too! Gorgeous things there, I'd like to take it all and put it in my house. If you haven't yet check that one out too. LOVEly stuff.

I don't know if you have or want a church, but I'd recommend both the Canadian Reformed Church of Carman West and Carman East as well (same church, got super big and shifted to two buildings)... i go to one of the two Winnipeg branches of the same one.
here's the website for west : http://www.carmanwestreformed.com/
and east : http://www.carmaneastreformed.com/ (east has a lot more stuff on thier site...)

both churches have the same set of beliefs... basically only where they are and the preaching styles of the two individual ministers are the biggest differences.

not to try and force a church on you, but just in case you were interested in attending one and wanted to know a bit about some of the ones in the town! There are a few, considering it is a small town, lol. I dont really know much about the other ones, to be honest - like i said, i didn't grow up there, i just visit a bunch.

haha thanks for all the info! Smiley

I LOVE the croissant sandwiches at the bakery....mmmmm.... and I'm waiting for the tea house to open for the spring!

And evensong is great! There are quite a few great little shops here. Pretty good for a small town Smiley

And as always, great deals on stuff for crafting at the MCC. I am particularly fond of their GIANT chest of drawers full of knitting needles and crochet hooks!!!! Projects galore!

Thanks again!! Grin

YAY for the MCC's!!!! when I started making jewelry, I found way way WAY more stuff to buy and take apart plus loose beads as well at the MCC in morris compared to all the Value Villages here in winnipeg . . . every time I go to my dad's I always get out to the MCC . . . . the best thing I ever scored was a jar of chandilier drops for like 50 cents -  those are so expensive at the home reno stores!
