I live in a ranch home where the living room and the dining room are in an "L" shape.  There was really no definition of the two spaces and it drove me nuts.  I didn't want to paint the whole space the same color.  To me that would be an overload of one color.  So after 7.5 years of begging my husband to paint, we finally did it.  Cheesy I decided to separate the two rooms with paint and some artwork.

Here is the final result.  The two colors are close to a rich pumpkin and an deep olive color.  The pictures really do not do it justice.  Plus my camera is not the best.

The in process photos...

The three mini paintings I did with the same paint on cheap canvases I bought at Walmart, 3 for $3.50??

Individually

My favorite... Wink

And I had to throw in the light switch cover.  It was old and nasty and stood out like a sore thumb on the olive wall.  So a few sprays of contact adhesive with some left over matching fabric laying around and voila, a new cover.  I am so anal that I had to color the screws with my Primsacolor markers!  I need serious help! Tongue

Thanks for looking! Smiley

This is a great way to separate the space! I really like the color combination (even if the colors on the screen aren't exact, still get the idea  Smiley). The artwork gives it a great final touch!

This came out so gorgeous!  We have similar taste in color I see - this is one of my favorite color combinations.  I love your art transitions too.  Thrifty and terrific looking.  Fabulous idea that I may need to employ one day.

Bold colors are definitely the way to go!  The pictures tied it all together so nicely and turned out great.  Clever clever with the light switch cover! Wink

That's a really great idea to divide your spaces! The leaves look very classy too.

Thank you everyone!

It was hard to bite the bullet to make such a bold choice but we love it.

Now hubby wants more down the wall.  I think I have room for 3 more....we will have to see!
