Haha, just finished this last night and I've been dancing around my apartment singing "I luuuv - it, the duuuuvet!" (making the two rhyme... I am highly pleased with myself...)

Anywho, my girlfriend and I needed a new duvet cover, and we couldn't find any at ikea that worked for us, but we DID fall in love with some fabric!  So we got the fabric (the black print) and then some green fabric and some orange lace and two sewing days later this is what we have!

sorry it's a little blurry...I had too much coffee this morning!

a close up of the fabric and other details:

it's not perfect, but I have convinced myself that the imperfections add a crazy charm to it...I mean what's the point of making perfect crafted items...it's like my own personal signature.  Anyway, it works!  And we are pleased as punch.  And making up silly songs.

Thanks for looking!  Comment and ?'s are always welcome/appreciated!

EDIT:  I forgot to say that I actually didn't sew the entire thing by myself.  The sewing machine decided to hate me while I was sewing the back and the front together, and I got so frustrated I wanted to punch the machine...luckily my girlfriend came home and saved me!  So it is only fully complete thanks to her!  THANK YOU GIRLFRIEND.

I love this fabric too, I covered my desk, and lined the back of my living room shelves with it. Smiley

Looks great on the bed!

Thank you all!

blackbird5685:  Yes, the squares are appliqued on -- The bottom two kind of went on crooked, but I like them regardless...I do have a little extra fabric -- maybe i will do some embroidery over some of the lines and make it into an little matchy throw pillow --- haha, cause I don't have enough pillows already!

porkydork:  the little moths are my favorite!
