Lucy pops!

One of my coworkers has this dog:

A soft coated wheaton terrier, named Lucy.  For her birthday I decided to make her cake pops shaped like little Lucies.
Cake pops inspiration, recipe, etc, are of course from:
http://bakerella.blogspot.com/

So I made up my cake ball mix, let it chill overnight, and then shaped into in a general terrier shaped head with white chocolate chips for ears.

Then, put your heads back in the freezer to firm up, and contemplate life for an hour or so.
Then I got my supplies out: coconut, Halloween sprinkles (one bat for the nose, half a bat for each eye), sticks on a styrofoam thing, melted white chocolate bark, and Lifesavers.

The Lifesaver collar and doggy inspiration is directly yanked from Bakerella's dog pop how-to here:
http://bakerella.blogspot.com/2008/09/puppy-pops.html

Ok, so once you have the doggy head, stick the stick in a little white chocolate and attach head.  Coat head in white chocolate, tapping it at the edge of the bowl to get rid of excess.  Then coat in coconut.  Don't try to dip it, it'll be a mess.  Sprinkle the coconut overtop.

Next, add your bat nose and eyes (black jimmies would have been easier, but I had none) and thread a Lifesaver through the stick to finish.  Other advice: keep them frozen until the second you use them, it make it so much easier.  I took them out one by one from the freezer and it helped.

Finished!

I'm not sure how to store them until the party...I will package them all cute with little bags tomorrow, but for now they are here:

I will post photos of the party once I have them!
