Hey everyone,
So I can't even tell you how long I've lurked on this site... years... YEARS!

I'm a 24 year old illustrator/graphic designer living in Toronto.
I have a sweet job at a screen printing shop with my bf where we can make tshirts to our hearts content!

Anyway, 2009 is my year of getting my stuffs together and getting more involved in the arts community online.
I also want to explore doing my own thing more, and honing my skills.

Finished piece (larger view at bottom of post)

This is the photo of a mannequin at Le Chateau that started it all.

Starting to get my forms/shading down

BW version, changed hair, added bkgd, texture to the skin, etc...

Finished Piece! Took about 10+ hours, but I'm really happy with the results.

As I mentioned, this is my first tablet illustration, so any comments/critiques/tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys, looking forward to getting more on the boards!

That is completely gorgeous!  Her hair is so lifelike!  It looks so soft and luminous, like I could just reach out and touch it and it'd feel real.

<3333 Thanks guys!

The colouring technique was found here: http://www.digitalartsonline.co.uk/tutorials/index.cfm?featureID=1751

I'm really happy with how mine turned out, but the artist who wrote this tutorial is truly killing it!
I love how he's able to get his skintones really greasy/shiny but in a good way (if that makes sense).

This is too cool! I love the choice of green.
I'm in Toronto too! If you're ever looking to do something crafty let me know! I've been thinking about mustering up my fellow T.Dot craftsters for a little craft along something or other for awhile now. Also, if you're ever looking to show off your stuff, my brother just opened a gallery.

Thanks.
I passed that along to my BF.
He says thanks.
(Anything tagged Empyr in Flickr is my bf's, and the Pi314 stuff is mine)

Amazing!  I love the green and am drawn to her eyes for some reason.  The shading is incredible.

The sepia is my favourite. Between there and the fully coloured version it looks like you upped the hi-light under her jaw. It makes her jaw look all wonky and really makes me sad 'cause it takes away so much from your awesome painting.

I'm also in for a TO meetup Tongue
