I've been wanting to do this for a long time.....like years and finally got around to it a few weeks ago.  I used to play flute but haven't in forever and don't plan to again but I love my flute and think that it is beautiful so I wanted to make it into a lamp.  Found the lucite lamp base at a thrift store, add a shade (that I don't love but it'll do for now), and a wiring kit and tada!  I love it.

It seems that different people have an idea of what I am, and what I should be. And then there's me.

Very nice.  It gives me inspiration to use some of the things that I have around.

Good job.

I love this! But I'm curious as to how difficult the wiring kits are?

That's cool. I think the shade would look great with music notes.

I admit I couldn't successfully do it even with the instructions that came with the kit and online instructions.....my husband had to do it but he had no trouble at all.  I just don't have those kind of skills.

ah so pretty! I used to play the flute back in high school - I was even decently good at it XD But I think I've basically forgotten most notes by now... Do post a pic of the music notes when that's done Smiley

Awesome lamp is awesome. Do show us the shade when it's done - that sounds perfect!
