This is my "Ugly" quilt that I just finished hand-quilting.   I machine-pieced it a few years ago, started quilting it and put it away.  I had second thoughts about the colors while initially working on it.  It is a poly blend that I got incredilbly cheap.   I wanna say like 50cent/yd, but prolly $1/yd.  I fell in love with the blue and then found the 'red' (I've decided its 'watermelon').    I was still shopping for more colors for the next quilt, and wanted to work on something, so grabbed this material out of my stash.  I had just finished a detailed quilt and wanted to make an quilt that was easier to piece. Anyways, like I said I've grown to like it and wanted to share. Its approx 7'x7' with poly batting.
Thanks for looking

this is a great quilt! really. the colors go great together.....when you stare at it or even stare like next to it...it kinda looks like an acid trip...ahem....or maybe a 70's sesame street show. it messes with the eyes, in a good way though. i likey too.

I think it looks great.  Sometimes, I think the simpler the better.

It's not ugly!

The colours are vibrant and clashing. That's great! If it was an icky brown and a sickly orange I would have problems with this, but it looks great.

This woul dbe a lovely feature in an otherwise plain room.

Ugly - NO !
Remember, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

It looks great. Simple and Bold. I think the colors are so different that they play off each other. Anyway, for whatever reason, it works, and that's all that counts. Good work.

I know what you mean when you said that you didn't like the way it was looking, so you PUT IT AWAY. Congratulations on deciding to finish it. It was well worth it. Others may have never picked it up again. I know I had one quilt that bugged me for several reasons and I had to keep putting it away. I think it finally was finished something like 13 years after it had been started.  But I finally finished it and it looked great, too.
