I tried one of these tonight for my beginner sewer, it turned out great!  Very easy to teach, I sized it to fit US bills + 1/2" on the sides.  The key to her great results was using a presser foot with an edge guide so everything stayed nice and straight.  I sent her home with fabric cut out for two more wristlets.

Thank you again for such a great idea....now I need to think of another easy project for my next lesson.

Thank you!

@sewjayded:  I would love to see her clutches!  Cheesy What about a Jordy-Bag for her next try? I made it as a beginner and it went really easy and smooth! (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=32204.0)
