OK partner assignments are out. I tried very hard to match people up in-country if possible and also with people who were compatible as far as crafts they wanted to make/receive. If anyone has trouble or questions, please don't hesitate to message me.

Otherwise, I can't wait to see all the super-smeggin great crafts you brilliant folks come up with!

PS I'm sure this goes without saying, but no posting items you made until your partner has confirmed that they have received their package. :-)

----------------STATUS UPDATE 5-1-09----------------------

One flake and a few late-senders, but overall a great swap. Don't forget to post all kinds of pics!

So I should be sending Tuesday, but I just wanted to post a little fuzzy pre-view for RachOfTheJungle!

Behold...

OK got my F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S package from thelastkodama today!

I've been having really long days at work (no lunches, either! Sad) So when I came home to this lovely package of gifts, it really made my day brighter.

Thanks, thelastkodama, you are uber-generous and waaaay talented.

OK here are the pics! (sorry for the sub-par quality of the images... thelaskodama, if you have pics that do better justice to your work, please post away!)

The package said "Ouroboros", but instead of a baby Lister, I found these amazing items:

A Holo-headband, an Alphabetty Spaghetti frame, a sweet paperweight to show off at work, and plenty of Tension Sheets (copyright Thicky Holden) Not pictured in the above photo: Embroidered patch, silkscreened shirt, see below...

This is a closeup of the sweet (interchangable) Rimmer-themed paperweight:

And of the Alphabetty Spaghetti frame with some sharp-looking button accents:

Check out this clip if you want to remember why a frame with a pic of a "Wild Stallion" and "Alphabetty Spaghetti" written on it is hilarious!!!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Irt18dhFhHw

This amazing shirt came with the memo: "What could possibly be amiss?' I think I will wear it (along with my hologram headband) on my next visit to the Potato King:

Sleeve detail:

Closeup of the Holo-headband:

I also got this great patch that I will wear proudly to show my RD love!

Hooray!

Heeeey everybody! I totally got to see the RD specials cuz my boyfriend found em online (I did not ask about his methods...:-P). We'll buy the DVDs, but I couldn't wait until the end of July to see them, for crying out loud!

Did anyone else see them?

MrsFlibble, did you catch the episodes when they aired in the UK?

Anyway, I sent out reminders and a request for updates from folks I haven't heard from in a while. Anyone who's received, please post pics. And don't forget to shower thelastkodama with praise for her awesome creations :-)

I did not get to see the specials, waaaah! I will certainly poke around online when I get the chance. Anyone know if they were on BBC America? I think my friends get that channel.

thelastkodama, they aired them on Dave, which is a non-BBC-related cable channel if I'm not mistaken. Here's their site: http://dave.uktv.co.uk/

I am still having computer issues, but I am finally getting a chance to post the things I received from ammasmama.
She sent me some cool bird houses with the thought "what if Cat and Lister had their own trailer?" This first one is Cat's space.

It had to be covered with mirrors so he could always see how good he looks.

Next we have Lister's place.

He is ready for Fiji with his cool island colors. I can imagine him in a chair with an umbrella and a drink in his hand.

She also sent me some great refrigerator magnets and 2 really fabulous necklace charms.

This picture doesn't do them justice. I like them all. There are some cute shells in the one magnet. The necklace charms are both so cute. One has a very sparkly fish in it that the picture just didn't capture, and the other is glass with jumping dolphins. It's all I can do to keep my daughter from taking them.
Thank you for a great swap.

ok, this is what I sent out. can't find the photos of what I recieve so I will have to retake them lol!

first, when she opened the box she would have seen a lot of shredded paper, some snacks and a wierd looking wooden box...

I tried to make it look 3 million years old. and yes, that's an ouroboros snake.

inside she will have found two lollies (you'll see why in a min), a jar and two strange crocheted objects.

first, the jar.

everyone remembers series 1, when dave comes out of stasis and walks around tasting all the white powder only to find out it's the crew... well, this is british sherbert. it's made from bicarbonate of soda, citric acid and confectioner's sugar.
ya licks the lolly and dips it in the jar of the captain's ashes...

yeah. sick. I know.

then we have a crocheted keyring with an embroidered name label

appologies for blurryness, couldn't find my macro lens.

finally my piece de resistence...

oh yes! it's an amigorumi starbug!! embroidery on that was copied directly from a model of starbug 1, but i put a 2 on it cos everyone knows kryten crashed starbug 1 on his driving test.

here's the back

And MrsFlibble, the lollipop thing is hilarious! Your crochet skills are the best. Oh I love seeing all this awesome stuff!!

I swear I'll post pics tonight, I had to hide things from Amelia in a hurry with Easter cleaning and need to get it all back together, it's a crazy house around here!

I also told Kewlmomma I wanted to send a small tin of white powder that said "They're dead Dave. They're all dead Dave", but I was afraid of the post office. Well, honestly I'm not THAT afraid of them, but it seemed unfair to send white powder to someone in the mail and possible get them in trouble Roll Eyes it would have been awesome though!

lol, i was worried about the white powder too but it was sealed in a jar and then sealed again in a wooden box so i thought hell, i'll risk that.

it got through!!

yes i caught the new eps, they were on dave. any uk members can check out www.joindave.co.uk but i dont know if their content will show in other regions.

i loved the new eps, but can't say why 'cos it's a major spoiler lol!!

I hope ammasmama doesn't mind, but I just wanted to post a picture of what I sent. I only took one picture and it isn't a great one. Hopefully she can post better pictures later.

I sent her a couple things I thought some of the crew would own. A mirror covered in leopard print that belongs to cat. A Rimmer voodoo doll belonging to Lister so he could get some aggression out since he can't punch him. A frame with a movie poster starring some of the crew members (she can put her own picture in it), and a bookmark that says " fun, fun, fun, in the sun, sun, sun...". I hope you like everything ammasmama. I had fun with this swap. Thank you.

I received from hahnasay a few days ago, but I only got a chance to take pictures today. Here's a shot of the whole awesome package!

The trinkets box (Red Dwarf's black box, as explained to me in a special memorandum) made me very happy when I opened it up and looked under the lid:

In addition to the candy and stars in the black box, I found this:

ALIENS!!! Little did Rimmer know they were hiding onboard ship the whole time. I've been wearing the ring ever since I got it, and there was another one, but I've given it to lisaisab and the pair are now our "hetero life mate promise rings." Wink

There was also this sweet bag:

And this awesome picture frame! I've already found a highly appropriate picture for it, of lisaisab, our good friend, and me.

Also in the black box: red and black earrings! They are very pretty; I think I'm going to hang them in my room as decorations because I don't actually have pierced ears.

OK, so here is, like, one of my favorite things ever now.

IT'S A PEA ON TOAST. Seriously. Awesome. It makes me so happy.

There were a few more things, like a little Canadian moose (already chillin' with my Vermont moose), space stickers (stickers!), and pretty letter magnets in my name.
Also pictured in the group shot is a stack of Red Dwarf photos, which are so great! I want to have a mini-album. Cheesy

Thank you again, hahnasay! You made a great package!

If anyone is interested, heres the file I made in Photoshop for Cats This is Mine spray. Feel free to print it and make your own. Its made to fit on a standard body spray bottle, like the kind youd get from bath and Body Works or similar.

It's displaying small on this post but if you download it and then open it, you can have the full-size image and also read the note from Cat about his product and usage instructions. :-)
