I am finished with my block and will be taking it to the PO tomorrow morning!  It is kind of hard to make out the cables in the picture, but they are there!!  I am sooooo in love with cables right now and have a new cable stitch pattern book that I hope to make lots of use of for everyone's scarves!

That is fantastic.  Cables are so much fun.

Yum, cables. Isn't one of the Vogue Knitting stitchionaries all about cables? Or they have textured stitches and have a large chapter for cables.

Such prettiness already! *Sigh....* I wish I could be sending my scarf on. But, I'll be heading up in a few minutes to take a picture and then start on the next section...

Well, here is my unofficial first block Wink

It's pattern #003 from my Japanese book of 300 Crochet Stitch patterns (I don't know the actual title).

I used Red Heart Super Saver (because I have a ton), and a K-hook, so it's a bit wider than the official swap scarves. I also made it about 6" tall, so my final scarf will end up being about 6 feet. I'm trying to use gender neutral colors (I might stick with earth tones, or fall colors), because it could end up as a gift... My SIL has a very tall brother, and even though we don't exchange gifts, it would be a good gift for him, maybe...

Anyway...

And, I already did my next section last night and this morning. I have a slight problem- I picked stitch patterns that had pattern repeats that were all factors of 24 (2, 3, 4, 6, 8 ), but the next section ended up with more than 24 stitches at the end. So, I have to figure out how to get the next section going. I may have to make a starting row that skips a few stitches so I have the requisite 24 stitches...

That is really beautiful.  I'm glad you are unofficially joining us.

I sent today.  I will post a picture in the next hour or two.

Yay!!!  My scarf section.  You can see the chart and such here:

One thing I forgot to mention on my sheet of paper is that the stitch holder should travel with my scarf, so any knitter that gets their hands on my scarf has it handy.

Gorgeous, both of you guys! I think I need to "up my game" with what I'm using. Dig in the stash, find some colors, get some stitch dictionaries. I'll just let the scarf tell me what it needs.  Roll Eyes

I'm definitely trying your chart, myklia. I've never done double knitting. You've given me a great chance to try! Oh, and you can definitely add that to my scarf if you'd like.  Grin Grin *hinthint*
