Hey everyone  Smiley For my most recent Mod DIY project http://blog.modcloth.com/2009-02-12-mod-diy-put-a-bow-on-it-or-some-lace, I wanted to expand my wardrobes potential by creating removable bows and lace clips that could give some of my favorite pieces new looks! I hope you guys like what I did. I'd love to hear your feedback Smiley

This project was actually inspired by this vintage polka-dot bow-tie! I love it and I wanted to sew it to one of my dresses, but I couldnt decide which one. To save myself from an impossible decision, I decided to sew hair clips on the back with the bow, so I could attach it and remove it from whichever outfit my heart desired!

I have a ton of vintage lace from my Grandma, so I decided I to make a lace pin. First I sewed the lace to itself creating a double layered ruffle look, then i sewed safety pins to the back of the lace.

For this big yellow bow, I took a leather belt, tied it into a bow, and sewed safety pins into the back of it. If you are worried about damaging the fabric of whatever clothing youll be pinning, I suggest sewing hair clips onto the bow so they wont pierce your clothes.

If you have any suggestions please let me know! I'm still new to Craftster Smiley

I am a combination of jealous and in love with this!! I'm going home and immediately doing this! I have this bolero/blazer-type jacket thing (I dunno which of these it really qualifies as), and I spilled acrylic paint on it at my internship but was too in love with it to throw it away. Now I know what I can do with it!

OH, what a cute idea! Cheesy

If The Flintstones has taught us anything, it's that pelicans can be used to mix cement.

Bowled over by your bows. And the lace pin is genius!

For some reason the yellow polo/tie reminded me of Charlie Brown...

I am seriously coveting that brown dress/yellow belt tie.
Looks like it'd be killer with an oldschool glamour silhouette.

Such a good idea! I love the lace clip, it would look gorgeous on a vintage dress Smiley
