This is a homage to my favorite executive transvestite, Eddie Izzard. It was my first try with fair isle so it came out a wee bit lumpy; plus I made the tea cozy before I had a teapot and the only one I could find that I liked and was under $80.00 was huge. Oh well, I still like it. The pictures don't really show, but the words are made out of black sparkly yarn.

And I decoupaged a picture of the wonderful man himself onto the teapot!

All hail Eddie!  Wonderful cozy and quite a cute tea pot.  Will the decopage come off when the pot gets hot?

We only had three bits of cake and we didn't expect such a rush!

I am worried that the decoupaged picture will come off the teapot when it gets hot, but that's ok because it really looks terrible in person. It's all wrinkled since it was a flat picture placed on a rounded surface.
I had tried to find special transfer paper for putting images onto ceramic, but I didn't really know what I was looking for or where to find it.

It was a gift for my best friend and will probably be her "for show" teapot.

Fun!

I think a little steam blocking could de-lumpify your cozy.

Death.... no wait, cake!

*snicker*  What a great idea for a cosy!  I'm sure La Eddie would approve of sparkle-yarn Cheesy  The picture on the teapot is sublime.  More Izzard crafts, I say!

Eddie = Ace fab groovy (in a James Mason accent Smiley )

Knitting things in homage to Eddie = very ace fab groovy (but perhaps without the James Mason accent as my voice is too girly for that Cheesy )

Hoorah!  Top stuff!

Shocked  OOooooo! Easier idea: decoupage Eddie onto eggshells, spray a tree in metallic paint, add a plush tree skirt, and have a Very Eddie Easter......

Ooooh, I second the motion of an Eddie swap!!!! I love the idea of making him into a knit your own rock star. I'd love to be able to cuddle with him! ha-ha!

goldfinch- I'll totally make you a cozy! It's the pattern from SNBN, and the words are from a chart my computer savvy man made in Execl.

I have spent the better part of the afternoon looking for a picture of a cake I made for Eddie when he was in town last year.  I was lucky enough to go see his show.  Anywho... I made him a cake that had a picture of death on it in his cowled robe.  In one hand he was holding a scythe and in the other a platter with a cake on it.  From the folds of death's robe extended one fishnet clad leg wearing a leopard print pump.  It really turned out well and wish I could find the pic to show you all.  Oh well...a Eddie swap would be fun!  and for those who are interested beekeepers.com is his official web/fan site

Aww...  flattery gets you anywhere!  Cheesy

The one I made for Goldfinch came out way better than my first one. I will post the chart I used tonight, my boyfriend made it in Excel for me.

And of course I have to join an Eddie swap!
