We're now up to 5 of us!  Exciting!!!!  And most people are looking to do 40 squares, so that means about 200 new squares each!

Ooooooh!  I can't wait to get all kinds of yummy new squares for my little collection.

I'm currently trying to decide of working on accumulating 1000 squares of different fabrics for a charm quilt is too ambitious of a project or not.

No way... I have two PS quilts on the run, one like this which is from fabrics received from other people and only from other people, and a second one which is only scraps of my fabric.

The former requires 1,920 squares, and the latter requires 10,000 squares. Its going to take a while....

This sounds like a really great swap, I'd love to be a part of it but I'm not quite sure what is expected.. i'd cut a whole bunch of little 2x2'' squares (40 per person) and then send then to each person in the swap? is that right?

Mrs._Zeddies, you're exactly right, except that they're 1 1/2" squares so that when you sew them with a 1/4" seam allowance you end up with 1" finished squares.

Join!  It'll be fun!!!  And easy!!!

So, to make a twin sized quilt, how many squares would you need?

mrs.zeddies, that depends on how you're going to set the quilt up-- are you going to have borders and sashing, for example?

But if you imagine that to make a 12" square block you need 144 squares, you can begin to imagine the magnitude!

And while I'm thinking about it-- sign ups officially close tomorrow, but we may not be quite full.  How do you all feel about extending a few days to see if we end up with our full 11 people?

That might also give TwiztdBlood a chance to get a swap spot open to join us.

I think we should wait and see if we can get up to 11 people, but that just my two cents.
