Oh no Kate, I see the mirror broke... I'm so sorry!  I wrapped it in bubble wrap and peanuts and everything.   *sigh*  Maybe you can put a picture in or something...

Meredith

No! The mirror didn't break-- I promise! My light fixture is reflected in half of it:) And the picture isn't the best quality...
Everything was PERFECT!!!

Oh yay!!  I'm so happy to hear it.  It's hard sometimes to ship mirrors, but with the mermaid/mirror thing I thought it would be fun.

I'm also really glad you liked the bracelet.  It was the first thing I thought of to make.  It might be too big and if so, you can take out some rings or one of the pictures if you needed to.  I figure it's always easier to make something smaller!

The bracelet fits well! I tried to take a picture of me wearing the bracelet, but it came out as a (very colorful) streak.

Finally found my camera cord (it was hiding the the hubby's office, no idea why)

Here's the fountain I sent Dixie:

This is a picture of the mermaid in progress.  The mermaid fountain is greenware, so I had a lot of seam cleaning to do!

Here's a picture of the finished project:

A closeup:

I also send Dixie some Alexander Henry "Tattoo" fabric.

Hehehe.  I hope you didn't think I actually made the mermaid by hand out of the clay.  The lady I take ceramics class from pours the clay into the molds and lets them dry.  I got ahold of the fountain after it was dry but before it had been fired.  I had to clean the greenware (lots of seams and stuff) and cut holes into the shell to make the fountain work. Next I had to put 4 coats of underglaze on the unfired mermaid.  Off to the kiln it went, 3 coats of clear glaze on the mermaid and 3-4 coats of aqua glaze on the shell and another firing later it was complete.  I then had to match up everything and cut the fountain's tubing to fit as well as glue the mermaid onto the shell.  Not hard, just time consuming. The glaze is not as even looking as I had hoped, but this was my first try after a 6 month hiatas from ceramics (I had done it 3 1/2 years prior).  I hope it didn't get cracked too bad for Dixie.  If it did, hopefully she can use the fountain itself for another project!!
